Excellent pay Competitive Benefits Paid Time Off 401(k) with Matching Company Contribution Stable Work Environment The technician team lead will be responsible for overseeing the work of a team of 10 - 15 technicians to ensure all repair orders are distributed in an appropriate manner and the repairs are carried out as per the time committed to the customer and to the highest quality.
Job Duties Distribute the daily appointments and repair orders to their team in a manner that is fair and consistent with the technician's skill level.
Oversee automotive technicians in maintenance, servicing and repair of vehicles to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and fixed right the first time.
Monitor work and advise supervisor of matters deserving attention regarding automotive repairs.
Perform all duties of skilled automotive technicians, following recognized procedures for such work.
The team leader is responsible for intervening during difficult diagnostic situations, thus freeing their team members to continue working on shop throughput.
The team leader can assume diagnosis of a difficult concern and then assign the repair portion of the job to one of the team members.
This aspect of the job is critical to customer satisfaction and shop production efficiency.
As a seasoned and highly qualified technician, the team leader will identify training and development opportunities among their team.
When possible, the team leader can assist and teach a junior technician on difficult diagnostic and repair situations.
The team leader will be asked to road test with customers to assist in identifying intermittent and / or difficult to understand customer concerns.
The team leader will inspect repeat repair vehicles to assist in identifying the reason for the return visit.
Findings are to be communicated to the Shop foreman and / or Service Manager.
Job Requirements Ideal candidates will possess at least ten years of technician experience, hold VW or Audi certifications, a strong track record of accurate diagnosis and repair techniques, mentorship abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of VW warranty processes and requirements.
Must hold a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
