Responsibilities:
Expert in creating ER (Entity Relationship), Conceptual, Logical, and Physical data models for an enterprise. At least 15 years hands on experience with Data Modeling tool such as Power Designer or Erwin. Data Modeling experience in financial industry (with focus on card processing) is highly preferred. Solid communication skills and be able to facilitate / lead Data Modeling sessions with partners including Business, IT (engineers and developers), BI (Business Intelligence), System of Record (SOR) SMEs etc. to assess business requirements and deliver design prototypes and data models. Expert in data stewardship and building / maintaining an evergreen Data Catalogue for an enterprise that is easily searchable, visually appealing, houses robust metadata, and shows end to end lineage at an attribute level. 5
years of hands-on experience in Data Cataloging tool such as Alation is must. Experience with other Data Cataloging tools such as Collibra can be considered. Experience with Data Lineage tool Manta is desirable. Card Processing business acumen with solid working experience in industry reference frameworks such as BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network) and ISO20022. Expert writing skills to define and document business terms, rules, and processes in clear and crisp manner. Solid scripting experience in Python to create alerts and monitoring, build interfaces to move data between systems (such as from disparate sources to Alation) and automate data governance. Expert in Excel with experience in writing complex macros to expedite data profiling and analysis. Candidate should have development experience/exposure to java along with thorough understanding of APIs, Swagger, YAML and JSON Schema to be able to build interfaces with Alation. Expert SQL development and performance skills in Snowflake database in addition to other database technologies such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Cassandra, and Yugabyte. Experience in tools such as Matillion, SnapLogic, or DBT building data transformation pipelines for on cloud / on premises databases such as Snowflake is desirable. Experience in modern data design methodologies such as DDD (Domain Driven Design), Microservices Based Architecture, Bounded Contexts, and Data Mesh building data warehouses is desirable.
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills able to break down complex information and articulate in a manner that is easy to understand. Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly complex, matrixed environment and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently. Be able to understand current data landscape, interpret results of analysis, identify trends and issues, and develop data standards to support business objectives. Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques for data solutions in a large and complex environment. Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with partners to meet business SLAs and plan and deliver work to expectations. Functional knowledge of the Financial Services industry with experience promoting a robust risk & control environment is preferred. Be able to coach, train, and mentor junior staff.
